Islands in the sky
When I create my landscape paintings I always start by thinking "Where do I want to go, what would I want to explore and what would I find?"
This is a fantasy setting tropical beach, but I wanted to up it with some floating islands, gravity or "magic" has change the ecosystem here. What would I find if I started to swim through the coral reefs? flying fish or perhaps underwater birds? The great thing about painting from your imagination, there are no boundries. In my head there are such cool places just along this beach to exlpore, and out on those floating islands, the fauna is feral and primal.
Anyway, it was fun doing this one. Its winter here with alot of snow melting and falling anew. My way of a small escape.

you know what you could name these sort of pieces? EH?
EH? EH? DO you know? WELL I'LL TELL U MY FRIEND! You could call them Skilands (sky+islands) and you could spell it differently if you wanted like um, skislands. Eh, im just sayin you know i mean do what you want with the idea, just remember it was me who told you, he he, oooooooh yeah. Also well done i think this piece is BRILLIANT!.
